Our Commitment
The Department of Information & Communications Technology (DICT) is committed to ensuring that the Digital Transformation Summit website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that access to information about Papua New Guinea's digital future should be universal.
We are working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard across all pages of this website. This is an ongoing effort and we welcome feedback to help us improve.
Conformance Status
This website aims to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. 'Partially conformant' means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. Known limitations are listed below.
We conduct periodic accessibility reviews and address reported issues in order of severity. Our target is full AA conformance by summit launch in July 2026.
Known Limitations
Some archived PDF documents from previous summit editions may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these progressively.
Embedded third-party content — including live stream players and interactive maps — may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We encourage providers of these services to meet the same standard.
The interactive photo gallery uses touch and pointer gestures. Keyboard equivalents are provided; however, the experience may differ for keyboard-only users.
Technical Approach
This website is built using Next.js and React with server-side rendering to improve load performance and screen reader compatibility. We use semantic HTML5 elements, ARIA roles and properties where appropriate, and follow established patterns for accessible interactive components.
Colour contrast and interactive affordances have been designed to support users with low vision, colour blindness, and cognitive accessibility needs. We avoid relying solely on colour to convey information.
Feedback and Contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you experience a barrier that prevents you from accessing any content or functionality, please contact us. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days.

Formal Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility complaint, you may escalate the matter to the Office of the Ombudsman Commission of Papua New Guinea or another relevant oversight body.
We are committed to addressing all accessibility issues in good faith and will provide an alternative means of accessing content where a barrier cannot be immediately resolved.
